The Romantik Hotel Im Weissen Rössl is one of Austria's most famous hotels: its name and lakeside terrace inspired Ralph Benatzky's operetta "Im weißen Rössl" (The White Horse Inn, 1930). It stands right on the shore of Lake Wolfgang, next to the pilgrimage church on the market square of St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut.
Most of the classic Alpine-style rooms have a balcony, many with lake views. The hotel has a heated pool floating on the lake, a spa area and a restaurant with a terrace by the boat landing.
Lake Wolfgang boats to St. Gilgen and Strobl leave from the doorstep, and the Schafberg cog railway is a few minutes away. Salzburg is about 50 km away, Bad Ischl about 15 km.
